Until now, most cremation urns looked much the same. There was no mistaking what they were on a mantle, or a shelf. That’s what make Planturns™ modern urns different. Their geometric shape and plant featured on top allow them to enhance the design of your home. Traditional urns can be a reminder of a painful experience. Planturns™ handmade wooden urns let you celebrate and remember your loved ones in a new way.

Really just so fitting to have our both of our 4-legged children still "with us" in such beautifully crafted urns- they still feel "here". Also having the live plants, makes it feel as we are nurturing them too as they get watered. They stand proudly next to the photo frames.

Every handmade wooden urn from Boyce Studio is painstakingly made by hand in Downtown Los Angeles.

Much care went into the development of these modern urns; a year of research and prototyping led to the finished product line. A variety of shapes, sizes, and materials ensure that you will find a vessel that honors your loved one and reflects your style.

The top portion holds a plant of your choosing, while the cremains are safely housed in the bottom of the vessel. The top and bottom are secured together by strong rare earth magnets. A muslin bag is included to hold the cremains while inside the urn.

Responsibly made heirlooms

Boyce Studio partners with local lumberyards to use only rescued or FSC-certified wood for our handmade wooden urns. The muslin bags are hand made in Colorado, and the cork we use is sustainably harvested. All Planturns™ are finished with natural zero or low VOC finish.
