Downtown Women’s Center

I was part of a pro bono project at the Downtown Women’s Center in DTLA, which houses homeless women and gives them support to eventually maintain a job and housing of their own.  My partner, architect Melanie Freeland and I were tasked with furnishing a common space within a using only fundraised money and donated items.  Because of budget constraints, we determined that my building much of the furniture was the way to go.

Shelves and wraparound desk.

Freestanding desk.

Six multi use chairs/ side tables that not only featured a place to sit, but also a place for storage.

And the final touch, a large wooden clock.
